Default Heat wrap...

Hi I intend on heat wrapping the downpipe and manifold, both aftermarket goods. However my up pipe is standard, any point wrapping? as its a standard item will it not crack under the hot conditions?

hello Harry Ive heard rumors that the std pipes dont like the extra heat caused by wraping but some one will be along to confirm or condone this

Harry you dont need to wrap the up-pipe it has a heat shield welded to it, if you have removed the shielding from the headers, these will need rapping to keep engine bay temps down, and to protect the wiring loom at the front of the engine bay.
I have every thing wrapped even on ported cast headers, and have had no problems, my tip would be to get good wrap, and spray them up with hi temp paint to give them a bit of water proof protection.
Think i used DEI? or somthing like that.
