Default Defi water temp sensor location?

Hi, have just bought a defi water temp gauge and sensor, but am getting mixed reports on where to locate the sensor itself (on a new age).

The defi manual says T it into the upper radiator feed line. Others have said remove the existing water temp sensor behind the alternator and locate both that and the new sensor into a T piece in that location. I don;t like the sound of that since you'd be pulling the existing sensor out of the line of water flow and possibly getting a less reliable reading as a result .

I'm thinking the upper rad line will be easier to install and give just as reliable reading. What have others done? Any advice appreciated

I would T into the top rad hose. Try demon tweeks for the alloy pipe to make the T connection. You should know the thread size required.
