I've bought an IHI V34 to replace my failing TD04 on an MY00. I used to be a mechanic in my younger days so I'm not too shabby with a set of spanners. I know I will need a remap but can I fit the turbo myself or am I not able to start the car after until it's mapped? Just thought I might try and save some pennies!!

Yea do it yourself no problem, Car can be started as well,Just dont drive it on boost

As above, car will be fine providing you drive it off boost.

I'd install it just before you get it mapped.

i changed my turbo on my blobeye, and wasnt too hard to do, just remember to squeeze off the coolant pipes!!! and i drove around on the new turbo for a while without any problems, and yes on boost aswel!!!!
