Default front mount intercoolers.

hi just wonderd if im right in thinking that if you have a front mounted intercooler setup then you can no longer keep the standerd are box? every pick ive seen has the pipe to the turbo going through where the airbox was.
any one have any ideas?

cheers c.

Basically no you can't keep the standard airbox because as you mentioned one of the IC pipes has to go through the inner wing to reach the cooler itself. Fit a Induction kit i used a stainless design becuase i didn't want K+N oil on my MAF which can cause failure.

thanks for replys. thing is i didnt really want an induction kit ive heard bad things about them on imprezas but if thats the only way to do it then fair enough. is there anything else that needs takeing out or upgrading when fitting a front mount?

yer a lot of patiences and a good hack saw and big hammer when i fitted mine if yours is pre 96 you will have to cut a hole in the inner wing to let pipe in to engine bay and would recommed chaging your cam belt before you fit one as you will find its tight up to the rad fans and timing cover! have fun id never fit another, but depends on what other mods your got it will make it better
