Running in after engine rebuild
Just having a bottom end rebuild on my sti 3 engine after it threw a big end (no.3 ). Its having new big-ends, mains, crank, one new rod, oil pump and all the engine gaskets replaced. Everything else has been inspected and given the thumbs up.
Is it just a normal run in, i.e. building up revs and boost gradually over 800miles or so. Or, due to not replacing the rings, will a shorter run in period ok?
Also, which oil should be used during this period? Would mobil 1 15w50 be ok?

i used millers running in oil at first , alot of people recomend it , why dont you re ring it and deglaze bores and run it in from scratch , would be like new then . oh make sure they clean all oil galleries out too as can gather the remains of the mains etc
