Any special procedure for this required to purge system?

Nothing special, just disconnect the hoses, put a cloth under them to stop any fuel going into places it shouldnt, when you reconnect everything, prime the pump a few times before actually starting the car, and everything should be fine

Leave the car over night so that the fuel pressure drops. Will not p*ss out as much fuel I believe.

Another tip, nice one, unfortunately i'll be driving the car before i do it, i'll look forward to showering in petrol

yeah watch out for when you pull the petrol feed hose off. it will shoot it out fast lol
