Brake Fluid and colour?
Hi,
I bought some brake fluid (DOT4) from Halfords the other day for obvious usage. I was surprised to see that it was quite dark in comparison to a tub of Catrol equivalent I bought some time ago (which I thought was dead).
The Halfords fluid was sealed (foil cap undamaged).
Does a darker colour mean the fluid is actually duff in this case even if it's brand new?

I believe the fluids can come in different colours to help when bleeding the brakes. If the seal is intact then its ok!
Never use brake fluid thats had the seal broken and has been sitting as it sucks in moisture which makes braking performance poor.
