Default Fitting MBC - Advice PLEASE

Is there a how-to guide or can someone explain exactly how to fit a Turbosmart XS boost controller to my 93 wrx please?

Id like totally bypass the boost solenoid as it keeps giving me different boost (e.g 10psi, then 12, then 10 etc)

Thanks!!

basically you have one pipe that goes from your waste gate actuator into your mbc, and the other pipe comes from the turbo compressor housing into your mbc. not sure which way round they go on a turbosmart as i used to use a dawes device one.
both these pipes come from the boost solonoid(the top two) you should have a 3rd pipe still connected to your air filter resonator, if so leave this as it is.
PS have you tried cleaning out your solonoid with brake cleaner?

Hi dan do you find using the dawes device in conjunction with your mbc better for early spool up? Think i might go back to my dawes, im deffo gonna give it a trial run over the weekend.

My Dawes is my MBC (Manual Boost Control)... Loads quicker spool when compared to standard. Its fitted in conjunction with an ESL chipset. I set at at roughly 1.1bar and thats how its has stayed. No spikes, a simple yet good design IMHO. Cheap to boot..

Is it running a lot better with it installed now Dan, no spokes and quicker spool?

Thanks for the how-to!

Just don't be tempted to go mad with the boost and you'll be fine..

iv got a hybrid mbc which i bought from dawes devices before i bought my esl chip, i had it on for a while but since fitting my esl i went back to the original boost circuit(through solonoid) but by the sounds of it il have to give my mbc a trial and see which way is best by comparison.
