Default revs drop to zero for split second

please can anybody help,
car will be running fine but then i will be driving along, not necessarily on boost and the power will cut for a split second causing the rev counter to drop to zero. this then continues to get worse until the car keeps doing it so often that the car is undriveable.
when this first happened i was broke down on the side of the road, and the fuel pump wasn't priming for a few minuets, then finally it started and i managed to get home. i have replaced fuel pump but still have this problem???????????

if the pump wasn't priming then it has to be pump or wiring of, or immobiliser / wiring of etc..
