Indution Kit should I or not??
Hi,
Can anyone give me their thoughts on whether it's worth putting an induction kit on my Impreza. Its a WRX STI Prodrive 02 and seems to have all the bells and whisles. It currently has a Pipercross pannel filter but I keep getting mixed comments on whether to change it as some people say by putting an induction kit on all I will be doing is dragging hot hair from the engine in rather than the current way from outside.
Any advise would be good.
Thanks

Well if you are going to get an induction kit I'd personally reccommend a cold air kit.
I've got a mushroom induction kit on my classic and although it sounds amazing I dont think it did a great deal to my performance overall as it draws heat from the engine even tho the vent sits directly over it.

there are 2 schools of thought on here regarding I.k's
I have recently put an RCM induction kit on my 04 JDM STI under Bob Rawle's guidence. Bob had the very same kit on his own car so my view was if it was good enough for him.... (Bob did say however the only one to go for was the RCM)
In preparation i fitted a cold air feed into the bay which works well. When moving, MAF intake temps are no more than 3/4 degrees above ambient.
I will also be fitting a heatshield this weekend (supplied by Harvey) which will help a lot with heatsoak when stationary.
I wouldn't run an induction kit without a cold air feed, but with one plumbed in and the heatshield fitted they work perfectly well.
