Default TEG Sport in Carnforth??

In conjunction with this tapping noise I seem to have, Im going through to TEG Sport in Carnforth this afternoon. Does anyone have any experiences or opinions about this spot?? Also, who's the best man to speak to regarding my engine??

Are they pretty genuine?

Cheers

I've heard lots of good reports of TEG. Not cheap, but when you build the quality of rally stock he rolls out I suppose you don't expect it to be.

When I first wanted work doing he was booked up for what seemed like ages (rallying ventures) so I went elsewhere. but that was the only reason. I work about 5mins away from his workshop and he's always got interesting stuff going in and out. Workshop is clean, tidy and well kitted out. I'm sure Steve Simpson of TEG will be able to advise you on your engine problem. If you have a problem diagnosed which needs any internals then have a word with Lancaster Engines (I think TEG use them anyway for some work)

TEG : TEG Sport front page
Lancaster Engines : Lancaster Engines - classic car & vintage engine reconditioning and components UK

A couple of alternatives to TEG are Cotton Competition and ScoobyTeknix, both within driving distance for you.

Cotcomp Home (highly recommended personally, very knowlegable, good specialist diagnostics, very friendly and helpful)

ScoobyTeknixUK the North West Subaru Performance Specialists. (not really a specialist for fault finding, but cheaper labour and good if you know what needs doing)

Right, absolutely spot on that mate.

Do you think Lancaster Engines would be able to provide some diagnostic information on top of whatever I get from TEG Sport?? As its only a bit further down the road!

Cheers

You could always give them a quick ring and ask. I'm sure in their 30years they've heard all sorts of engine noises and can probably identify a knock from 30paces by now.

I'll give u a wave as you trundle down the main street of carnforth on the way to TEGS m8. Well I say 'main' street lol - it's not a big place.

I would recommend CotComp which isn't much further too. Steve's a good bloke give him a bell.

Lancaster engines do machining work for TEG and a others, they don't have any diagnostic equipment they are purely a machine shop, but Malcolm is a good egg and will point you in the right direction. BTW TEG build they're own engines on site, Stuart is the main guy and Steve Simpson operates out of the Rev Shed and actually works for himself under the Steve Simpson Motorsport name.

Yeah, I have rang them and they basically said to bring it in and they'll see what they think. I think just saying there was a slight 'knocking' sound was a bit vague for them to determine an exact cause!

OK mate, well il be coming from the Barrow-in-Furness direction, and will hopefully be there about 3.30-4.00'ish. Car is a silver classic UK Turbo with prodrive flaps!! Il look out for you!

Right, might give them a ring now then, see what they think.

Cheers
