Default Vacuum hose length to VTA - Whats best?

Is it better to have a short length of vacuum hose to a vta dump valve or is a long length just as acceptable or does it not matter?

If there is a reason for a certain length what are the reason(s)

cheers

I would say shorter that way there is less delay in the valve opening.
