Default Major Issues Please Help!

Hey folks,

Bought a Falcon predator evo 4+ remote start car alarm from a friend, got a garage to fit it and they wired it all up only to tell me that it didnt work, well it turns out that they had not connected the ariel for it so no signal was being picked up by key fob.

Next up was that the speedo stopped working, and they revs are dropping to almost zero bouncing back up and settling ish (but very low about 400rpm)
Check engine light has come on a couple of times but gone off again.

Really freaked!
What has happened to my bloody car?
Coinsidence or alarm related??

Please shed light
Thanks

yep, - can't seem to trust anything to garages these days.
prob best to splash out on a competent auto-electrician/ICE-specialist to look over the wiring.

Could bad wiring be the solution to these problems or is it something more troublesome???

Hi,

if it was fine before hand and it has only come since the work was done then it almost certainly work related.

I used to be a sparky and nearly every fault I attended was someones fault, very rarely do things go bump in the night. "No, nothing has been touched, it just stopped working" was the reply. "found the problem, there's a nail in your cables", "oh, well now you mention it, I did have the plumber round moving that radiator the day before"......Doh.....4 hours too bloody late

Auto spark will sort it. But don't forget to mention the alarm

year of car? import or uk?

if its an import (early) then possibilty they could have caught the speedo cable when wiring in the alarm. This would cause your cel to come on. Check around the gearbox and you will see the speedo cable (assuming classic) just check to make sure it is fully home

Its a 94 JDM WRX, checked the speedo into the clocks, seems ok, just having the cable into the box checked as his has broken before ina previous scoob,
Its the revs dropping that are worrying me and check engine light,

Anyone think it might be sensor related or just related to the alarm??

Cheers Folks
