Need a new engine but need advice
Guys,
Hoping you can point me in the right direction.
I currently have a 99 classic uk turbo 2000.
I need a new engine, the gear box and the ECU is fine so just need an engine block.
What options do i have? can i get a WRX engine or a STI engine or will i have to get a new gear box and ECU?
What is best to do now that i have to spend the money and get a new engine?

What you do all depends on your budget,
If is just your bottom end gone then you can get this repaired, or if you have plenty of cash £2500 will get you a 2.5 L shortblock fully installed and will fit straight in aswell.
If your on a tight budget, the you can take the route of a second hand engine or short block, but you take your chances

I don't want the 2.5 engine what my query is ..
Because the car is a turbo 2000 do I have to get a turbo 2000 engine? or can i get a WRX or STI engine? if i go for one of these then will i have to replace the existing gearbox/wiring loom/ECU or can the wiring loom from a uk car be compatible with a jap engine etc etc....
Can anyone shed any light?
