Default Could I do this?

I'm talking about avoiding a remap, because I think the mods arent serious enough to require a remap. The usual induction, stiv6 tmic intercooler, tdo4 hybrid, full decat and headers. Then could I use a apexi avcr to turn boost up to 1.1bar? and continue running on 99ron shell. Its a 93 wrx, shouldnt the ecu adjust the timing etc by a simple reset? Then just add a knocklink for security. Opinions guys? Kind ones

p.s. Esl still selling there chips? havent seen any on ebay for a while?

to get full advantage of a decat and the better tmic it would be best to remap.
Have a look at www.polarperfromance.co.uk (run by Scott T).

So what fuel do you run it on, and what boost you pushing? and how many miles covered since all the mods? Knocklink? what reading you get?

To the best of my knowledge.

Injectors max out from 5300rpm, so I think the 440's I have will need fitted.

<PSLewis mode on> No cocklink <PSLewis mode off>

Ran on mainly V-power, but had to put BP in near Elvington couple of weeks ago.

Roughly 1bar of boost.

Why bother spend the money to do all this and not use it to its potential???
You will not get the full benefit it you dont remap. You will also have a higher risk of failure.
Get it remap

Speaking for myself, mines running standard management, and not doing too bad

Plus, as I'm sure you know early car's ecu's aren't mappable, unless using this new chip + software thats coming on the market.

Otherwise, its Apexi etc, which I can't afford presently.

Boost Targets & Fuel-Cut Limits
WRX/STi Saloon ECU's 2C, U8, W6, W9 - 11.47psi held to redline. Fuel-cut 14.57psi
WRX (1995/96) ECU Z4 - 12.71psi, dropping to 11.78psi @ 6600rpm. Fuel-cut 15.65psi

As you can see the fuel cut for a 93 wrx ecu is 1 bar so you will need a fuel cut defender (do a search on here or google for them)

Remap Remap Remap Remap! (or ECU in your case maybe?)

What do you think you are gaining by not getting the car remapped? I can't believe the car isn't running lean with that lot on - it would have been worth doing with just the STI TMIC and decat; let alone the turbo and everything else.

I don't think the chip removes the fuel cut limit but it does raise it. I have one running at 1.1bar. Other chips do the same, see Myblackwrx's post above.

2 bar map sensor required to avoid fuel cut - available from scoobyclinic at very reasonable price. as for the mods, needs a map full stop if u using tdo4 turbo, as the original turbo in a 93 is a tdo5, plus no real benefits without mapping anyway.
