Default Oil pressure problem

Hi everyone just rebuilt my engine with new crank,ACL bearings,con rods,forged pistons,oil pump,sti 4 heads the lot.But the it will not pick up any oil from the sump have i missed something obvious or is there a special way,all oil seals and O rings are new.Any help would me much appreciated

Prime the oil pump.

Which way do you do this as the oil just runs out?

Tow it in 2nd round the block with all the plugs out... put it into neutral once the oil light goes out...

If it’s new pump and dry it will only pull up air you need oil in the pump to seal and create the suction to draw from the sump this would be done ideally before fitting the pump

You can try and get pressure by filling oil via the oil pressure switch take of on the block and cranking with plugs out etc but I wouldn’t keep doing this.

If this doesn’t work the pump will have to be primed. IMO

Will take pump of in the morning as the engine is still fairly stripped and then fill pump with oil and try again.Thanks for the help guys
