Default TD04 Turbo question

Just registered here, no nothing about subaru's at all, lol, more into vauxhalls myself.
Currently looking for a suitable turbo to use on a engine project, and a mate suggested a TD04 mitsi turbo, front entry, engine aiming for around 200bhp, currently 100bhp stock N/A power.

Could anyone tell me what model/year cars Front entry TD04 turbos came on?
Needs to be front to make pipe routing a bit more straight forward.
Thanks

At least all the newage WRX's have FE td04's (note, *not* the STI as they have IHI VF-xx turbos (xx = 30 and 34, I believe)).

They should be reasonably cheap to pick up too. I would think you could get a low mileage one from a recent UK WRX for about 50-60 quid.

Ok mate, cheers.
So i'll look for one off a new style WRX.

I dont believe some saab's and volvo's shared the same turbo too.

Do you know what sort of power the turbo is good to?

allegedly, there's UK WRX's running up to 300bhp on these turbos, so that may be a guide, I guess

There are many subtle differences between subaru TD04s and those from Volvo etc. Do you know of someone who has done a similar project to the one you are thinking about, as they will be able to help with respect to changes you need to make in order to bolt the TD04 on.

I have TD04 in great condition with only 20k's worth of use, please PM me if interested and I can post you some pics.

Apparently, the impreza td04 would be best, i think volvo/saab ones have a slightly different compressor housing/turbine.
