Big up! fto Scott.t And polarperformance.
Just spent most of the morning with scott.t live mapping my pre96 WRX. Yes you heard correct live map pre96 scoob.!
Its new technology only previously available on post 96 scoobs. Scott had a stinking cold so only finished the session as a convenient point, but WOW.! the results already are amazing. The live map has transformed the car and power is way up on my relatively stock 95WRX. Having seens scott and the sotware in action I am very comfortable with the results and would highly recommend this as the way forward and future for pre96 scoobs.
Having dabled a bit myself with the Apexi on previous cars from what I could see the software/hardare is fantastic with an element of safegaurd that the Apexi don't give.
This is going to enable me to bolt on the mods and get live mapped each time to get the very most from my car and already the results are great.
Great bit of kit, with a great mapper in control of it.! Highly recommed.

This is indeed a very good option, I'm offering this as well and agree the results that can be achieved are excellent.
Like others awaiting first production boards but as far as I am concerned this works and works very well.

Sorry to thread invade, I have a MY94 version 1 sti, i am currently fitting a new engine spec as follows
2.0 block relinered to 2.2 by SMG
Lateral Wiseco custom pistons with uprated pins
ZEN H-Beam forged rods
ACL duraglide bearings
New EJ20 crank
Cometic Head Gaskets
ARP 12mm head studs
Fully Ported V4 heads including clave throats and inlet guides
All valve seats recut with 3 angle seats
Standard UK camshafts
Shimmed Oil pump rebuilt
Reversed inlet manifold.
Im going to be using my tdo5 and prob 550 injectors with a walbro, paralell rail`s, an fuel lab fpr for the time being till can afford the upgraded turbo etc, Anyway to the point, by using this could my ecu be remapped to suit my spec therefore doing away with the need to upgrade to aftermarket managment, also could my apexi avcr an safc 2 be used as well, if monitoring tools if nothing else.
Again sorry to thread jump, just really interested in this.

ye see, this is what i am interested in doing....i cant really justify paying 900-1000 for apexi at the moment and as it would give me 30-40 bhp over stock, i dont see the value either ( well to a degree) . i know its great kit and is proven aswell but what gains in power/torque/usability etc etc etc could it provide to my ver 2 555 sti ?? full decat turbo back, k+n panel filter(peak boost is around 18psi at times(mostly 16-17) but holds at 15-16 psi approx). i have checked the ecu and there is no chip already as it was an issue brought up by scott previously ! i am interested as to how (if thats what i read) you can live map a setup without having the car( might be a stupid question, sorry if it is ) as per the polar performance site( package £350 incp+p) or if you cant then is there a person in ayrshire or scotland that can do it and what costs of they arent included in the price. sorry for the babble but just really curious as i want some more power and better torque lower down...

Worbs, yes this sure could be mapped to your new engine spec.
With regard to the SAFC2 and AVCR , the SAFC would be pretty redundant as it would be tempting fate to fiddle with, if left in the car.
The same also appiles to the AVCR really, as the OEM ECU uses a 3D boost map, unlike the 2D Apexi PFC.
Probably worth selling them to fund it.....I may be interested in the AVCR myself .
You would need a 3 bar map sesnor though to run higher then 1.1bar. The ECU will be re-jigged to work with it. The later MY97> sensors can be had for £40 from a breakers.
I think Bob uses another type of sensor, which I would be interested in finding out more about as the genuine Subaru ones are v.expensive new.

After fitting 440's and a 98 intercooler and 3bar I had final mapping session today and what can I say.!!!!!!!!!!
Yeeeeehhhaaaaa probably sums its up.
The car is now pulling like a steam train and snatching through the gears now, but best of all is the drivability which is Sooooooo much better. With the turbo coming in much sooner and making it feel more like a VF turbo now than a TD05.
Its up there now with the quickest scoobs and Evo's I have had.
I have a dyno day coming soon and very interested to see what the results will be.
