Default running problems? Idea's Please

hiya guys, I've just renewed both head gaskets on my ej20 1994 wrx and i've just fired her up for the first time and she's only running on 3 cylinders Number 2 (front left) isn't firing! i've switched the coil packs and plugs around and it's always the same cylinder missing! I've checked time and time again at all my wireing and it's all spot on bar a little wire that comes out of the P/S pump assembely? but a mate of mine is running his with out that wire so i doubt that's it...

So what else could it be?

all help most appriecated...

You've checked the plug is firing, Have you checked the injector is getting the signal to pulse? Can easily be checked using a niod light or multi-metre.
