Default What Engine 2.5Block Or 2.2 Stroker

Hi i have a uk 2000 Turbo with a heavy knock from the bottom end.
I know this engine needs rebuilt but not sure which road to take.
I can buy a 2.5ltr block opendeck from Flat4online.co.uk for around £1500.
i plan on having the car for some time. i will be looking for around 330bhp at the wheels and have been told i should consider the stroker kits available
i dont wont to spend much more then 3k to get the car back running but also want more power ?

any advise please

Thanks

Tam

IMHO:
You will need more than 3K to do what you want even DIY.

You will need anther turbo, an ECU, better fueling, and cams/heads.
Be interesting what others say.

2.2 is very expensive as you need to reliner a 2ltr block or have a genuine ej22t block which is rare as rooking horses poo to get hold of if your only planning 330bhp ish just put the standard 2.5ltr in !!!

I was thinking about engine builds today ( i don`t need one) i was just wondering, what kind of price is it to get a 400 bhp ish engine built?? forged obviously, you guys can hopefully tell me i`m still a newbie to all this

I know it`s not just engine, you also need good brakes, suspension etc

Give Paul from Zen Performance a call Zen Performance - Engine Builds

You could also PM him, his user name is "Zen Performance".

They gave an extremely competitive price for my forged 2.0 build, they also gave an excellent price for my brother's 2.5 build.
