Default 2.5l block question

hi peeps
ive just got a 2.5l block for my 99 impreza uk model and noticed theres a extra part on the block just wondering how we work around this when building it up is it ment be blocked of or tapped in to any help is useful thank u

part in question like a tube just above the japan badge


is there any more bits i should be looking out for when we do the conversion???

I think that's an extra breather, not 100% sure though.

It's an extra breather, You can block it off without any worries as per here.

Although it says the 99 is a direct fit !!

If I'm looking at that pic correctly, that is the main crankcase breather (of the 2 breathers that one is closest to the bulkhead). The one you should block off is the nearer the front of the car.
