Default Headlight problems???

hi guys, just changed the headlight bulbs in my car as i did not nlike the tint. noticed that the passenger side connector is all brittle, cracked and broken.. looks like it has got too hot at some poin.. Maybe a high wattage bulb has been used.. anyway i have basically made a new plug except now that light is very dim.. i have checked i have connections round the right way and i have... so any ideas??? also got my fogs working they were connected behind the drivers light incorrectly...

You could try measure the voltage going to the dim light with a multi-meter and comparing it with the bright one on the other side. Also possibly disconnect the fogs in case fixing those has any bearing on it ? Do the side lights and main beam on the faulty side still work as you'd expect ?

i tried disconnecting the fogs again and that makes no difference. the sidelights work fine just that headlight is very dim and has no full beam...
