Under bonnet padding
The stuff thats put on as standard, the bonnet lining stuff,to help keep heat in i presume,is it wise to remove this as we want heat to escape easier from engine dont we ??!?!?
some people leave it on, some dont.
I took mine off, not because I thought it would make any difference to the heat dissapation or engine noise etc, but because it was bloody tatty and looked like something you find under your extraction hood on your cooker
Bonnet came up a treat after I had washed it about 8 times
, the amount of grease, oil, muck etc underneath it is amazing.

The padding is solely there for noise supression purposes
Removing it will have no effect whatever on the performance of the car, but you will find the car is noisier both inside and outside without it.
