best way to refit the release bearing?
by this week end i should have the engine rebuilt, but as i fitted a new clutch too. what would be best.
1) to fit the release bearing to the engine & line it up-
2)fix to the gear box with the fork in place-
its a 95 uk with a 230mm uprated clutch.
any info will be great, thanks in advance

so with fitting that way, should there be any problem what so ever regards the bearing clicking into place.
its a stage one clutch, just don't really want to damage it.

Option 2
align your clutch and pressure plate on the flywheel ensuring the release bearing circlip is also fitted to the pressure plate.
place your release bearing (with some copper slip) on the input shaft to the gearbox and mount the release fork, make sure the bearing is pushed back (towards the gearbox) ie fork pushed forwards.
once gearbox is rebolted to the engine push the fork backwards and you will hear that satisfying dull metal click as the bearing engages back onto the pressure plate, test by pushing the clutch pedal for feel.
HTH
Cheers
