Default I want more power

Firstly what is the difference between a phase 1 wrx and a phase 1 sti engine? What is it that gives the sti 40bhp more and a higher rev limit?

Ok, at the moment I've got 330bhp and the head gasket has gone on the car. The engine is out and I want more power from the car. I fancy 400bhp-450bhp what do I need to achieve this?

At the moment I've got the following mods fitted to my car:

Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
Nismo 550cc Injectors
Custom Exhaust From Turbo Back Titanium Back Box
XS Power Stainles Headers & Up Pipe
Hybrid Front Mount Intercooler
Blitz Induction Kit
TD05 18g With Samco 90 degree hose
Apexi Power FC
Apexi AVCR
Datalogit Kit
4 Coil packs
4 NGK PFR7B Plugs
SX Fuel Regulator
Helix Catch Can
New Radiator

I have the following awaiting fitment:

Sti lightened flywheel
Exedy clutch
lightened crank pulley
New front and back crank seals
New valve stem oil seals
ARP bolts
Steel head gaskets
Carl Davey's inlet manifolt spacers.

Would I be better building a strong bottom end out of my 2.0L or would I be better with a 2.5L bottom end?

I know I'll also need a gear box too. What is recommended?

Approximate prices would be handy too.

cheers

While you have it apart I would get the heads gas flowed, and the ports matched to your headers if you haven't already done it. A mate of mine did a set and got 15% more airflow! That's worth a few BHP on its own.

Ok, had a little look.

How would the following do:

Forged pistons (93.5mm I think)
Con rods
Crank
CD block

With my above mods what sort of power could I release?

Would I need to upgrade the turbo? If so to what?

cheers
