just went to get my de cat fitted and it wont fit. I was told it has a male to female join and not a flange with 2 nuts joint which i have been sent!! BUGGA............does this mek sense to any1 coz im not technically minded n dont have the foggiest?!

 

De-cat what? Centre or downpipe?

The only male to female joint I can think of is the slip joint?

 

hey mate, sorry its the de cat downpipe.................where the original downpipe with cat ends is all rusted hence the replacement but its pretty clear that when on the ramps that the end of my new de cat pipe (on ebay under "de cat downpipe 1993") doesnt fit it doesnt even look like its similar?

 

Hi mate just had the same problem with mine.
decat downpipe has a slip joint to fit centre section.
wanted it a bit noisier bought a nur spec r guess what when i come to fit it it had a 2 bolt flange so off the jack it came.
then went and got new decat downpipe with a 2bolt fixing magnex.
all fitted sounding great now with no bung in loud
think me nieghbours must hate me now misses loves the attention.
btw have got a full 3"system turbo back made by blue flame 5" jap slash with blue tip about 18months old sitting there offers for the complete system cheap cheap if its any good to someone.
sorry to go of topic mate u could get a exhaust manufacturer to weld the right joint you need but would cost not far from a new one.

yes in liverpool mate.
have been told that blueflame did manufacturer mongoose exhaust at one time, so might be simuler to them now.
the two downpipes i have look the same exept for the blueflame has a slip joint and the magnex has a 2 bolt flange, both double dump not bellmouth.
you can always go on to blueflame performance, no pics but might give you an idea what they do.

yep, it was on my 92, and was running 296 bhp with that exhaust on. ive got it on video on the rolling road but i havent got a clue how to post it on here
if i did you could hear it.

 

so just to clarify the terminology "full system" is that downpipe all the way back?....................if so how much you after my friend

 

yep mate its a full system from the turbo back, in exellent condition apart from a dent in the centre box from them silly speed bumps.
make me an offer, i wont be offended and it will be cheaper than a downpipe. danny
to buy one off blueflame it would be about £430 fitted.

the dent dosent effect performance its stainless steal so it wont rot. only changed it because the misses wanted it louder so we bought the nur spec. it only came off the car on wednesday. if you can make it £100 its yours. that is cheap for a full exhaust system
