Trackday Suspension advice!
Hay all,got a WRX buggeye on standard suspension but soon to be running with 330bhp(not ideal). With a few trackdays for this year in the pipeline was wondering what people before me have gone for? Would you go for full adjustables or not bother? The car is mainly being setup for the track!
I got a price the other day for some fully adjustable AVO's and they were roughly 800quid? Anyone else have any experience with these? What other make should I consider?
Any info will be very gratefull.
thanks
p.s Iv got the origional wrx turbo that had done 50k,anyone know how much there worth?
Iva also got some front 4 pot calipers with discs and rear calipers with discs, anyone
know how much they are worth either?

I had the AST's on my standard power 03 WRX PPP and it easily outran much more powerful cars on challenging roads. They needed the straights to catch up The flexibility was superb, setting usually at 2 all 'round for pootling about town, 4's for the wet and 6's in the dry. On track I tried it at 9f/8r but it was a bit twitchy, and settled at 8/7. Needs to have the Whiteline rear ARB and solid rear links too along with a good geo set-up. After that you're looking at either the ALK or adjustable topmounts to get a better set-up.
For mainly track you may want the 24mm bar. On road I wish I'd got it instead of the 22mm, but my driving style is very smooth and progressive with little brake useage. If you're last of the late brakers and a little erratic then stick with the 22mm.

Firstly I agree with Corrado.
You can go a lot further with the whole chassis, but that spec/advice is good imho.
I have run the '£800' AST's and I am now on my 2nd year of the 3 way adjustables (it is a road/competition car, see opposite).
You will find the AST's hard to beat especially as a package with Whiteline products.
Never forget the advice and set-up from Power Station.
Ultimatly we all put our health and on track possibly lives in the hands of these people so choose wisly. Go to Power Station.
I started off with AVO coilovers and consider then Not Fit For Purpose.
I told their MD this and he ignored me.
They leaked, they broke. Don't go there!
