Default will sti 6 heads fit my 2005 wrx

Been offered a set of sti 6 heads for nothing. Do they have bigger valves bigger ports or better cam lift/ duration then my 2005 wrx heads and will they fit ?

Cheers Liam

believe they do yes, any phase 2 heads will fit. Will need immediate mapping though, and yes they are far superior cam wise and have larger ports.

I have just had a set of modified STI5 heads fitted to my 2003 wrx.

Contact Zen performance, they are local to you in wellingborough and will be able to help you out.

woulda said 99% no as your WRX has varaible valve timing and STi 6 DOESN'T... but i stand corrected with above post?

the WRX does not have VVT, only UK stis do.

I was under the impression that only the JDM sti's had the variable valve timing. What difference did you notice on the 2003 wrx once the sti 5 heads were fitted Neil. Did you use the the ater wrx tensioner set up and which head gasket did you use ?

ill let you know when i get it back on friday

triplle layer head gaskets were used, but my engine is a built 2.5 anyway so slightly different.

The JDM WRX/STI both have VVT, but only UK STIs have it....just another way we get screwed!

Just been on the phone to my mate they are in fact 2000 P1 heads but aren't STI 5,6 P1 all the same. I'm waiting on my aps front mount to arrive from WRC tech which i'm told will be here end of the month. I will need a remap so i may aswell get these heads on. Something very gucci about having sodium filled valves on your road car !!
