Default flywheel skim?

I am getting my new clutch fitted tomorrow, and the mechanic said that if my clutch has been slipping then i'd best get my flywheel skimmed or it will just start slipping ahain after about 1000 miles is this true or a load of guff to empty my wallet?

Not always necessary, but generally recommended. Shouldn't be that dear to have an existing one skimmed, in the region of £20-50 afaik?

Or you can get a lightened one in exhange for your old one + £150 from API

As they said get it skimmed , well worth the £30 . skimmed mine when i changed my clutch as they tend to suffer with hairline cracks !
