Question Power Steering Reser...Whats the Difference??

Hi peeps,

Recently bought a power steering pump and reservoir to replace the knackered unit on my MY93 Import. Question i have is this....

The current reservoir fitted is of a rectangular shape and has a black cap with yellow writing on it. The reser thats come with the new(ish) pump is cylindrical in shape with a yellow cap. Whats the difference between them? I think i read on scoobynet somewhere that the cylindrical reser is the original classic reser and the rectangular is a newer version, is this correct.

Asking coz i dont think theres owt wrong with the reser fitted and if its technically better than the classic one i could just keep the replacement as a spare....or sell it on.

Also is there anything special about the all aluminium pulleys you can buy to replace the standard ones? Do they help with the power steering/perform better? Or are they just flashy pretenious bits of bling for your engine bay?

Cheers for looking.

Correct, the modification to the power steering assembly was to allow for front entry turbo and re-routing of the intake pipework
