Cold Running
Hello. My 95 Scoob runs terible when cold. As soon as the water temp is even slightly off the bottom line it seems fine.
It doesn't seem to be straight away, maybe after about 1/4 mile, it'll start missing. If I pull over and watch the rev counter, I can see the idle control fighting to keep it above 900rpm and after maybe 20 sec it will fly back up to about 1500 and then everything from there is normal.
It's been going on for a year now and starting to get on my ****.
Strongly considering flogging it and getting an EVO.
So far I have replaced (not all because of this fault):
Engine (sec. hand w/ brand new gaskets)
Water temp sens (several times)
Idle control valve
Plugs (upgraded)
Coil packs
Crank + cam sensors
Turbo intake pipe (from turbo to maf) No air leaks - done this several times.
Engine breather pipes
Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks.
Daz.

Is it Uk or import?
Does it have an aftermatket ECU?
Have you tried connecting the plugs under the dash and seeing if there are any error codes? (search the forum for CEL)
Was the fault present before the engine swap?
Are there any other air leaks?
Standard recirc dumpvalve fitted?

You guys are quick.
Please keep me posted on what the dealer says. Thanks.
The fault was present before the engine replacement.
Bailey Twin Piston DV (it's not this, I have tried re-fitting the re-circ for a few weeks - same)
Don't know about the ECU - it's not standard anways because it has diagnostics connector and not link wires (95 too early for diagnostics?)Here's a pic anyway:
January 2005 -Amplifier Wiring
It's an import.
Thanks for your help.
