I have been led to believe by someone on another forum, that if a Scooby is an import, the Intercooler is on an angle. If UK, straight. The car Im buying has a straight one, and Im sure is imported, so is this bloke talking CARP?

Yes, he is.

All Imprezas from MY97 on have straight intercoolers, irrespective of it being a UK or import.

Also all imprezas pre 97 have slanty IC's, UK or import.

But its a 93-94 wrx, so does it mean the ICs been changed or what???

Sounds like the IC has been changed I did this with my old MY93 WRX as it had the slanty one on before, it will have a rear washwipe which I believe UK spec cars don't have

So what is the standard spec/power etc on these? 1993-1994 wrx import.... Are there any things I should look out for??

240ps (or 236bhp in old money).
Thay are good motors, but many have been abused. Here's some info on the spec..... LINK!!!

You will need to run these WRX's on super unleaded MINIMUM, not unleaded unless you want a big bill for the engine......
UK cars will run on either unleaded or super unleaded, a wrx 92-94 will push out 240ps (saloon) whilst the wagons push out 220ps (all on higher octane fuel btw).

imports dont have have washer bottles for the headlights as uk do, also imports don't have a fog light built into the rear brake clusters as uk cars do, they usually have a after market light fitted, for uk mot regs, and also i think imports have vented rear discs as standard

Check the VIN plate for the 7 digit jap code, this will tell you.
