Help - One of my keys has died - do I have to buy a new one?
The immobiliser button has stopped working on one of the keys of my UK WRX MY03. I have changed the battery but it is still kaput. It was getting progressively more difficult to make it work - at times the button had to be pressed quite firmly.
Is there any alternative to being charged an arm and leg at the dealer (with a 60k service coming up the bank balance is already looking like being rather stretched)?

hi
a guy once told me to open your car with the spare once every other month or so.......if not the ecu will ignore the other key once the entries have reached a certain preset number with one key only. (only need to open and close not start up).
not sure if i believe that...but i always use spare once in a while anyway cos i know what they like to charge for these things!
cheers
