Default Running Lean?

Hello,

I recently rebuilt my 96 JDM WRX engine. Fitted Andy Forest AFP5-16 turbo, decat, greens filter, standard boost and using optimax. Took plugs out last week and they looked at bit clean, white/grey looking, got told they should be darker and should keep the cat in to prevent it.

Cars runs very well, but concerned that maybe its running lean with current mods. Fuel consumption is about 240-280 miles per tank.

Wanted to keep mods within limits of z4 ecu, but are these pushing what the fueling can cope with?

Plan on new fuel pump and regulator as safety due to age, but should I look at the ecu too. Not looking for huge power so is an apexi etc worth while investment?

Cheers,
Neil.

check the lambda mate. also worth investing in a knock link to monitor your knock situation... IF ANY!!

Im assuming timing is spot on, injectors clean, fully serviced...

Alright mate,

Lambda is brand new and she runs sweet and pulls hard right across the rev range, fully serviced, new filters etc, but thought I would notice if something else wasn't right, all plugs exactly the same condition. KL is probably a good idea though.

Cheers.

Plugs looks most like the first picture, but maybe a bit cleaner, plugs have done a few thousand miles and look like new. Mainly steady motorway driving if that makes any difference.

Would turbo and decat be to much for current fueling setup?
