Default Light weight body panels

Could anyone tell me the weight differences between the standard classic bonnet and boot lid, compared to the lightweight alloy panels?
Also, which models were they specific to? All I have heard, is they are from imports only, and can go for £750 for a bonnet

Can't tell you the weight difference but I got a aluminium facelift classic bonnet with vents and scoop off ebay 18 months ago for £240. Everyone else was charging £450-500 for it but I just kept looking on ebay and eventually one came up. Was in mint condition and just needed spraying to my colour.

Thanks for the reply.
Was it a noticeable weight difference when you picked it up?

To my knowledge, it's only the bonnet that is alloy (on Sti's such as type RA and type R's). The boot lid is plain old steel on all cars - certainly classics. Maybe there are some newage with carbon/allow panels, but I'm not sure of which if any.

It looks like the boot lid was a light weight one one the Type R's, going by this thread: https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...s-have-go.html
But that is the first time I have heard that mentioned, so I don't know myself.

All classic boots are made of steel, none were made with the mythical ally one. Take a magnet with you if someone is trying to sell you one.
