Use the search facility and look for discussions around turbo's mate - their are quite a few of them, should tell you all you need to know

need to change ecu when changing turbo too. but tdo4 is good for 280bhp and better low down grunt but the tdo5 just eats it when above 3000 rpm. depends how far you are intending to go etc etc. but the search will help.

A TD05 wont simply fit onto the car either, itll nned converting to front-entry (from the 90o inlet it was manufactured with). Also, the ECU cant be exchanged for another Subaru part; youll have to fit an aftermarket part, such as an A'PEXi PowerFC.

you do not need to change ecu and you can buy a front entry or a 90 degree tdo5 if you need one I sell them let me know if you put a tdo5 18g or 20g then you have to remap if you have a after market ecu yes you can remap to get more power but if you have a stock ecu you will be okay just do not run really high boost cheers

the TD05 flows considerably more air than a TD04.. running a TD05 on a TD04 map is asking for an engine rebuild..

Would a TD04 hybrid be a good compromise between the low spool-up of the TD04 and the increased feel of the TD05 ?

time for an aftermarket ecu to get it mapped.

You might actually find a remap and the standard turbo might give you the power increase to satisfy the current need..

Also worth considering a VF turbo.. slightly less power than the TD05 but more than the TD04..
