Default over boosting

Hello all,
I have a impreza 2000 turbo my2000 and it is over boosting. I have a green cotton panel filter, both cats have been replaced with de-cat pipes and the rear box has been replaced with a pro drive rear box.
The car seems to be boosting uptp 17psi which seems to be a bit high. I have been told that the ecu needs to be re-mapped to sort out the over boosting and to get the boosting and fuel right.
Any other suggetions or is this the best thing to do.

Many thanks Kieron
