Default P1 revs dropping when cold, cutting out sometimes too.

Hi guys,

Only had my P1 for about 2 weeks, but today i started it up, drove off and when i came to stop the revs dropped and it cut out, done it a few times until it came up a tad on the temp gauge.
It's fine once its warmed up a tad

Any ideas ?

Alex.

Have you asked on p1woc.co.uk? The tech bods there will have an answer, but saying that, they're all very knowledgable here too. Good luck dude, cant say I've had that problem in mine. Could be idle control valve off the top of my noggin.

I bought a v5 type r a couple of years ago with a simalar problem. It cut out when cold, but some times hot.The revs also flutuated quite badley hot and cold, apparently they suffer with the air flow meters.Midland impreza changed mine and i never had any more problems. If you have a mate with a simalar aged sti try his has it will only take 10 mins two change. If it is not the problem u will save yourself about 150 quid +fitting.

Idle problem = idle air control valve. Sounds like the air cut valve part of it (deals with cold start and idle) is on the blink, which can't be fixed unfortunately,it just needs to be replaced.
