New scooby 2007 from cyprus
Hi Wonder if you could help looking on the net i found a brand new 2007 wrx import for 14K (Full uk spec) and also have found some cheapish insurance but this is my first scooby and was wondering if there are any differences between a uk car and one from cyprus (Me thinks).
I went to the subaru main dealer and he could not give me any real reason not to buy it (His comments were the fuel goes through the engine differently!!!) i am an engineer byu trade and it sounded rediculous. Please Help as i have just put down a £250 quid deposit and its less to loose that 14K and my current motor (BMW 325 Coupe)....

You may have a shorter warranty period. I've heard of some ppl where the dealer has refused to honour the warranty on cyprus imports, but someone posted a snippet the other day stating that they have to honour it, but the period may be reduced.

No its a full 3 year warranty (Subaru backed) but the total on the road price including metallic paint and a cat 1 immob is £14500.00 but would like to know if there is any differences from the performance point of view the only difference i can find at the moment is that it has not got the side air bags but you can have them fitted as extras ....

The performance will be the same, the dealers fuel comment is bobbins!
It does come with three years warranty, but the warranty is with the country of origin (Cyprus) and as such it will take longer (7-10 days normally) to process a claim as your dealer will have to submit a P.W.A (prior work autharisation) to Subaru UK, who will in turn submit it to Subaru Cyprus for autharisation.
You'll need to register the vehicle with Subaru UK (0121 522 2000 i think) as it wont be done by the importer, you'll need to have it registered if you need to make a warranty claim.
If you have a problem with the alarm, that'll be with whoever fitted it,as it wont be a standard fit item.
The service book is in KMs instead of miles so the services are a bit closer together 9000 aprox instead of 10000, i think there may be an intermidate service too.
Lastly, the resale value of a European import will be less in the first 4 or so years, you buy it for less so its worth less.
Hope this is of some help
