'95 WRX power steering leak ?
My '95 wrx is leaking power steering fluid badly from the reservoir,im told they all do it. Ive heard that fitting a reservoir from later models cures this problem ? What model is it best to get one from and does the whole pump fit incase I choose to replace the whole lot ?

im seeing some black stuff gathering around the front of engine / near the power sterring filler on my 95 wrx too
hope it is power steering and not oil. the pipes near the filler have spring clip type fingies sometimes they go weak and juice can leak out , im gonna try replace them first.
also the cold weather can expand the pipe making it hard this maybe affects the clips keeping it sealed ? ?

..
I had the same problem on my 93wrx it was leaking out of the pump, i found that the early legacy pas pumps are identical to the impreza ones, you can pick them up for about £20 from car breakers...

there is an O-ring between the resevoir and the pump. . on your car it is on the end of the nozzle on the bottom of the resevoir.. pennies to replace.. just a few messy minutes to change..
from memory..
remove the fluid with syringe..
undo the 3 10mm head bolts around the reservoir and pull up..
it will slide off the pump.. and pull off the return pipe.
replace the O-ring on the end of the nozzle and refit.
There is also a seal in the front of the pump but they fail less often and you can tell by the location of the fluid whether it is between pump and resevoir or not.
