You wont 'need' a remap if you are just removing the centre cat, but your car will obviously benefit from one.

I was told recently whilst having my car mapped that the newage ecu is a clever beast and will compensate for most situations of mild modification. Whether that compensation means that it actually looses power or you end up with a flat spot at a particular rev range you wont know until you fit it. If you do then it's either put the cat back or remap to sort it out.

If you've already bought it then you might as well try it, easy enough to change and to swap back if you have any problems.
