delimited will the needle break ?
My 95 wrx is limit to 112mph. I replaced the speedo with a mph card.
Now if i get a mechanical delimiter / converter for it it will beable to go past 112mph wont it and then all i need is another speedo card that goes to say 150 mph. my dad seems to think this wont be right tho if after the above mods you go and do 140mph he seems to think the needle / clock will break as its only suppose to goto 112 right round the clock.
but i thought this converter thing will change the way the needle moves so if it says 140 mph on my speedo ill be do 140 mph
whos right can anyone advise
thanks

Not your dad
Not sure exactly how the de-restriction/conversion is done, but, if like me you have 180kph clocks, then what is displayed (speed) after de-restricting will be what your clocks display, just not in KPH.
If that makes sense.

The fix is a 1.6:1 step-down gearbox in the speedo cable.
You'll need to re-instate your old speed facia (so numbers go up to 180). With the gearbox in place the numbers will now equate to MPH rather than KPH.
Also, your odometer will read in miles rather than kms.

DaveD is that the converter / delimiter gadget that goes on your speedo cable your talking about or a new gearbox ?
and the original fascia 180kph will then mean 180 mph (not my impreza will ever go that fast lol)

The convertor fits inbetween the 2 speedo cables. The short cable fits into the gearbox & the long cable fits into the back of the speedo.
I would go for a complete speedo clock with the 180kph top speed. Once you have fitted the convertor all you have to do is place a mph sticker over the kph. This will destrict the cars top speed limit.
By changing the speedo card to 150 might cause problems with the speedo reading correct once the convertor has been fitted. Plus there is a good chance you could damage the speedo in the process of changing the card.
