Speed Limiter questions....

Ecutek re-map couldn't delete the 256 kph speed limiter
Anyone know a bodge to by-pass this, is it rev-limited or speed sensor ?
Can I insert a divide by 2 circuit into the speed input to the ecu ?
Can I sever the speed input completely and add a seperate speedo ?
ScoobyShootOut with a speed limiter wouldn't be much fun
