ENGINE PROBLEM HELP!!!!
Evening everybody I need to pick some of your brains,
I was driving home yesterday in my 99 Uk Turbo when suddenly without warning the engine dies, so I coast into a layby to inspect. Bonnet up no sign of and obvious fault I try starting the engine again, this time it just manages to start but runs at about 100 rpm, when trying more throttle the engine clicks. I have come to the conclusion that I have a fuel problem, would this be the pump in the tank that is buggered cos I took the top off where the pump is and I cant hear it buzzing. Any other suggestions???
Help please
Matt

You should hear the pump just with the key in the on (not started), should be able to hear it from the back seat. Does it snizzle away when you open the fuel cap straight after engines been turned off

Cant hear anything. Im going to take the plug off the pump and check it for power with a volt meter, is there a fuse or relay connected to this power supply?

as said you should clearly hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you first turn the ignition on.. check there is voltage at the plug if you cannot hear it running to establish if it is a wiring / fuel / relay problem or the actual pump.
