Default help please? car wont start after misfiring?

hi

ive got a 98 wrx impreza which i have recently changed from an auto to manual, and just wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

i have had to bypass the starter so that i can turn it over . LONG STORY

anyway it turned over and fired up. it ran like a pile of **** and it sounds to be misfiring. then it wouldnt rev past 3k it was idleing at just under 2k and now its just not starting at all but still turning the engine there is petrol getting to the engine.

it getting on my t!ts now and im worried that ive blown the engine up

any suggestions PLEASE
