Default Knocking noise...

I've got a knocking noise on my P1 that sounds like it's coming from inside the passenger side rear panel behind the passenger seat. I can hear the the noise at low speed as I apply the throttle gently and they lift off and also over pot hole, drains etc. This weekend i stripped out the back seats and panels and got someone too drive the car whilst i was in the back listening and trying to locate the cause of the noise. With my head inside the cavity on the passenger side i could clearly hear the noise coming from low down under the car and definatly in fromt of the rear wheel. I looked under the car and gave the exhaust & heat shields a good wiggle but could'nt find anything loose.
Any ideas what could be causing this noise? Could it be bushes? I bounced the car up and down quite vigerously but i could here any noise so i do'nt think it's the shock absorber but is there any way to tell?

Is your jack in the boot on the passenger side, they can come loose and cause the clunk/knock.... ??
