Default Walbro 255 Fuel Pump, can it be fitted without a remap?

Hello there, at the moment I have a standard WRX version 2 Impreza with only a cat back exhaust fitted.

I'm slowing buying bits and pieces and getting them fitted.

I was just wondering, can I replace the fuel pump with a 255 Walbro item without having a remap or playing around with the timing etc?

My thinking is no, as the pump with only deliever the amount of fuel it's told to, and as I'm not going to change the ECU yet, I won'y have to change anything.

Yes, it can. But it will only act like a standard the pump, as the fuelling on the ECU hasn't been mapped to flow more. Just like you said really.

i think andyF was on another post saying it can overpower the oem regulator so you may need an uprated one...
