when i floor it in 1st my turbo doesnt seem to kick in all the time n i dont know whether its due to the fast nature of 1st gear acceleration or its missing somewhere.....any help please?

your turbo's got 2 types of lag, inertial (time taken for mechanical bits to speed up) and thermal (time taken for boosted air at compressor outlet to get into cyl). In low gears (low load) the engine accelerates very quickly from low speed (or airflow) to high speed, but because of lag the turbo can't match the engine. In higher gears, the engine accels slower, this makes the inertial lag part of the turbo less of an issue, allowing it to get to full boost at lower engine speeds.
