Default Ecu and fuel questions

OK i have a v2 sti with the std 6k ecu, what i would like to know is how is this different from a std wrx one as in what is the difference in map the car runs and what are the good/bad things about it.
Also i have read quite a few different opinions about fuel as to what the car would be run on in japan/mapped for.
Some say 100 ron some say it wasnt available in japan the. I always use tesco/shell super anyway but would like to know the full reason why it is said to run car on 100 ron/super in england.
Cheers in advance, and sorry if i'm being a dumbass

Big power difference is the first thing, 238ps or STI 280ps. The standard STI map will be set more agressively than the standard WRX, different timing, higher boost, etc. The STI engine is designed to cope with these extra stresses, its a lot stronger than a WRX engine. I my WRX for example, I could use an STI ECU, and it would work, but the engine would'nt last as it should.
