Hi lads, as im a scoobie newbie can anyone tell me if there is a fuel or boost cut on the impreza I drive an MY00 irish spec, i've only had the car about a week. Anyway last nite on a long spin cross country, after some 40-50mph and traffic the road cleard so i floored it up thru the gears, but in 4th around 5000rpm power just disapeared, no lights not a bang as I was near my destination i didnt investigat further...on my way home there was no prob... Im assuming after the traffic, the intake temp was too high and the ecu retarded power to prevent detonation...does this happen?

There is a boost cut on the scoob at around just over 1.2 bar or 18psi. The ECU can retard the ignition advance too, for the reasons you stated.
